Jeremy Clarkson has had his say on the current state of the UK comedy scene after finding himself enjoying more and more Stateside comics.
Clarkson is no stranger to being on the wrong end of public opinion and facing calls for his head - most notably in recent years for his now-famous Meghan Markle column.
The Clarkson's Farm star said he "hated" Markle in a furious rant but went on to apologise publicly for his remarks as well as personally to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Clarkson's also landed in hot water for numerous jokes and off-the-cuff quips on the likes of Top Gear and The Grand Tour.
It's led to him facing calls to be axed by Amazon on Clarkson's Farm and ITV on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - although neither campaigns from offended camps came to fruition.
However, in his latest column, Clarkson has argued that the vast majority of British comics are so afraid of being condemned by the woke cancel culture pariahs that have come for him before that their material has suffered as a result.

PAClarkson has highlighted a big disparity in the way cancel culture operates, however, pointing out left-wing comedians have spewed vitriol with little to no repercussion.
He referred to comedian Stewart Lee's savage joke about Richard Hammond's Top Gear crash as well as Frankie Boyle's infamous Rebecca Adlington's remarks to highlight his point.
After saying this era of unfunny comedy arose after the "laughter industry was hijacked by the far left", he hit out: "Left-leaning comedians are rarely funny because it’s hard to make people laugh when you are consumed by bitterness, envy and anger.
"It’d be like cracking jokes with someone who’s just driven his Porsche over your bicycle."

PAClarkson went on to say the left's comedy is now so influenced by hate that "their jokes don’t come with a smile. They come in a torrent of spittle".
The former BBC employee used Have I Got News For You as an example, a show which "used to be very funny because it had no agenda" Clarkson wrote in his Sunday Times column.
But nowadays, Clarkson's unimpressed with how Ian Hislop comes across simply as "cross" rather than funny due to his disdain for the Tories and slammed how the likes of "Carol Vorderman drone on about Boris Johnson or that bra woman [Michelle Mone]".
After reeling off the differences in British comedy from yesteryear to now, Clarkson went on to laud US comics such as Louis CK and Bill Burr for adopting a "stomp-on-a-snowflake" approach to their material.

Clarkson's been a vocal opponent to the wokery which has infiltrated today's way of thinking when it comes to entertainment for several years now.
Even in his Amazon series Clarkson's Farm, the former Top Gear man poked fun at diversity quotas, environment activists, vegetarians, and many other hot topics.
The series is returning for a third season later this year and a fourth has already been greenlit for a fourth - even if it's faced criticism from the likes of Johnny Vegas for being "set up".
